What is real estate?

Definition: Real estate includes a parcel of land and any of its permanent structures (buildings, parking lots, etc.).

Real estate can be divided into three separate categories: residential, commercial and industrial. Most people connect to real estate through home ownership due to the barriers to entry of commercial real estate – mainly capital, experience, and the ability to source deals.
