Why did you decide to join Fundrise?

I worked in tangentially-related fields, specifically focusing on alternative investments, and enjoyed the world of finance. My prior roles were very rewarding in many ways. What I regretted was the inability to effect change and be part of a more creative financial solution.

While working for a bank, I became acutely aware of the regulatory and technological changes effecting the financial world. Instead of resisting change, I realized it was best to jump on the bandwagon.

Fundrise has afforded me with the opportunity to problem solve and be part of that innovation.

What do you like most about working at Fundrise?

My favorite part about Fundrise is the team. Everyone in the office works incredibly hard and there is a natural sense of camaraderie because we are all working towards the same goal. The collaborative nature of the environment allows me to learn more about various other departments within the company and work with people in different groups.

What is the most challenging part about your work?

Building a track record and establishing legitimacy on both a national and global scale means that precision is incredibly important. There is a lot of hustle required, whereas in my previous jobs, 100+ year track records meant it was at times easier to lean on a brand name to drive business.

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be?

I’d love to have dinner with Elon Musk to find out how he’s managed to penetrate so many drastically different verticals and innovate in each one.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Work hard, have integrity, and invest in relationships.
